Do you know what it means??? hahaha! I didn't know too! =))
This's the name of this world-famous station and village was created in the early nineteenth century by a local humorist.
The name in Welsh is:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
which in English means
'Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of Saint Tysilio near the red cave.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a village on the island of Anglesey, in Wales which has the longest name in the UK and the third-longest in the world. For most purposes, however, the name is abbreviated to Llanfair PG (or Llanfairpwll among Welsh speakers) which is sufficient to distinguish it from other Welsh places named Llanfair.
Suprized??? I was flabbergasted!!!
hahahah))) Try to pronounce =)))
Bet you never expected to learn a little bit of Welsh as well when you came to England!
